Simon Chantry is a Co-Founder and Chief Business Development Officer at Bitt.com. An honours graduate in mechanical engineering and management, Simon gained experience as a nuclear-commissioning engineer on Bruce Power’s U1&2 Restart project, followed by structural design engineering with internationally renowned industrial artist Robert James of Feral Art Studios.
After discovering Bitcoin in 2012, Simon co-founded Bitt.com and has held multiple roles with the firm including Director and COO, bringing the company’s blockchain-based mobile money software suite to market in 4Q 2017. Simon is an active participant at numerous government, regulatory, and technology centred forums, including the OECD, GIABA, London Fintech Week, ADC Global Blockchain Summit, and more. Simon is currently working to establish a Central Bank Digital Currency standard to enable interoperability and effective CBDC project collaboration and participation amongst international central banks including the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Bitt’s most active CBDC project.
He currently manages Bitt’s major accounts through the Caribbean and internationally including central banks and other institutions, and is an active advisor to a number of financial technology firms.
