Jacqueline Jumah is currently the Digital Financial Services (DFS) Market Specialist and Managing Director at Intermarc Consulting and is primarily involved in projects in DFS, the digital transformation in banking, payments and distribution.
Jacqueline was previously associated with MicroSave Consulting as a Senior Analyst and was also a lead faculty at the Helix Institute of Digital Finance in Nairobi. She is a professional with over eleven years of experience in DFS where she has been involved in various projects, consulting across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, among others.
She has broad knowledge and experience in DFS product development, strategic operations in agent network deployment and scale-up, DFS business strategy development, DFS policy advisory, market research, risk management and marketing and communication. She also has broad experience in behavioral economics and design thinking in financial services.
Examples of her recent projects include:
– Global research in emerging markets commissioned by the GSMA Mobile 4 Development department, on leading initiatives, best practices and innovations in driving efficiency, reducing costs and improving viability in the provision of digital financial services.
– Ecobank Group DFS strategy and implementation course development, and training 16 affiliate teams in preparation for agent banking rollout across the different countries.
– Supporting Airtel Uganda in developing robust rural agent penetration strategies and improving its liquidity management for the Airtel Money agent network.
– Agent banking strategy development and implementation at FirstBank Nigeria, to support the bank with an appropriate go-to-market strategy in line with its Financial Inclusion mandate.
Her accumulated experience involves a number of achievements including various digital financial services publications on critical issues in DFS.
